D Platoon, also known as Special Weapons and Tactics, or SWAT, is a Police Tactical Unit of the Los Suenos Police Department. The Platoon's teams are deployed to dispatch high-risk scenes, such as barricaded suspects, armed robberies, hostage situations, search and arrest warrants, and terrorisms, at the request of Los Sueños Police Department's patrol officers and/or detectives. They also deploy at the request of other law enforcement agencies and participate in joint-law enforcement operations as well, such as with Federal Investigation and Security Agency, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and BDRTAC. D Platoon is equipped with specialized weapons and equipment to bring order to chaos of such scenes, such as heavy firepower, protective equipment and various less-lethal equipment.

The team consists of 5 operators, Judge, the team lead of D Platoon's entry team, with 4 other officers whose names differ per play through. The team is divided into two two-men elements, coded as Red and Blue, with team lead and overall team coded as Gold. In practice mode and during the early access period, Judge's team consisted of King, Swan, Prescott and Eli, with Alabama as team's reserve member; King and Swan are Blue Team, while Prescott and Eli are Red Team. Tactical Operation Center, commonly addressed as "T.O.C" in radio frequencies, is the scene commander of SWAT involved scenes, and provides orders as well as accepts reports and requests from the Entry Team. Evidence unlocked by completing A Lethal Obsession at S-tier suggests there is another officer in D Platoon called "Cowboy", but he never makes an appearance in game and is never mentioned beyond this point.
A deceased Medal of Valor recipient Jose J. Ross was presumably part of D Platoon.
Organization[]
Assuming the LSPD's organization is a direct copy of a real life Los Angeles Police Department, D Platoon is part of the Metropolitan Division, the Counter-Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau, and the Office of Special Operations. The overall size of the platoon is assumed to be 60~70 Police Officers of ranks ranging from Police Officer III to Police Lieutenant II.
