Suspected of importing weaponry for the gang Los Locos, LSPD detectives visited the premises. A shootout followed, with one suspect being killed in front of the building. SWAT have been called in to respond.
Description of "Greased Palms"
Greased Palms is the ninth mission in Ready Or Not. The Los Suenos Police Department responds to a shoot out at the Los Suenos Postal Service, and is ordered to arrest a weapons smuggler suspect.
Mission Brief[]
Team Lead: Listen up. There's a situation unfolding. Two detectives from Criminal Investigations Unit arrived this morning at the Los Suenos Postal Service on 7th Ave in East Los Suenos. Their goal was to have a conversation with a Customs Inspector named Jack Adams. From what we could tell, they became engaged in a firefight on Side 1, the reception area. Our information at this time is pretty spotty, but it seems that the shooter was a part of the Los Locos, who have been seen in the area previously. It's unsure at this time whether or not the gunfight was connected to what the detectives were investigating or if it was a random coincidence, but we're certain that there's more than one shooter in the building. This has been corroborated by a phone call to 911 that we received around the same time as the gunfight occurred.
Both detectives have left the scene, one is in critical condition heading to Yano Memorial, so it's just going to be us going in there. Priority is to find the shooter and his buddies, and collect Jack Adams who is likely still within the structure.
We've gotta hustle, so I'll keep this quick: the Postal Facility is big, it has three sides for entry - we've got Side 1 with the reception entrance and warehouse entrance to the east, Side 2 with a loading bay access point, and Side 3 with more loading bays, these ones are for bigger trucks so you may wanna be mindful of the height difference there if any shooters poke their fuckin' heads out, they might be able to see right over your cover. Your best bet is going to be that main entrance, it leads right into the center of the building and we can get good domination that way. There's an internal structure within the facility on a second level as well - we don't have any intel on the design of this, it looks like a temporary part of the building.
I've also had word from our contact at FISA that they want Adam alive and well. As far as we know he's not a threat, and I can tell you now that if one of you kills a Fed on my watch, you'll be bagging and tagging evidence down in the lockers for the rest of your time with the LSPD.
Alright, last part - rally is on 7th and Laybourne, right near where the freeway begins. We've got additional units blocking off the overpass, and a sniper team is en-route, but they're across the city and it's gonna take some time. Let's hustle.

Persons of Interest[]
Name | Description |
---|---|
Jack Adams | A customs inspector, observing packages arriving internationally. Jack Adams is our prime suspect, and it is unknown whether his involvement in trafficking and proliferation of weapons is due to pressures from external actors. FISA has made it clear they want Adams alive. |
Name | Description |
---|---|
Eugene Gomez | Eugene Gomez is a possible collaborator with Adams. However, CID is under the impression that Gomez is being forced to act under duress. He has been working at the LSPS office for 25 years. |
Maria Lopez | Lopez is a potential suspect who is assisting Jack Adams. It's unknown how she provides assistance, but Maria has been spotted a number of times with our key suspect on a number of occasions, after-hours. She has three children, and is going to want to get back to them, so it's unlikely she will be much of a threat. |
The Map[]
The raid takes place at a post office. The front has a small building for customers, and leads to a big sorting facility with many conveyor belts.
The left most side of the facility has an office where Jack Adams is usually located (either inside or outside of it), along with the suspected shooter soft objective. Stairs in this area lead to an upstairs office.
The main part of the sorting facility has a series of paths and obstacles that suspects can use to shoot at the SWAT team and use effective cover, and prevent the SWAT team from having a direct access point to them. Two large garage doors are open, allowing anyone to enter and exit the building with ease. Eugene Gomez and Maria Lopez are usually located somewhere in the facility.
Behind the facility is the parking lot for the mail vans, which is a very open environment with little cover and multiple attack angles on the SWAT team. This parking lot is also accessible by walking around the building at the start of the mission instead of through it. The weapons shipment soft objective can be found in one of the vans on the edge of the parking lot, with one or more suspects usually guarding it. Attempting to clear this section of the map without equipment capable of effective long range combat is not advised.
On the left side of the post office, there is a small employee building. If entering from the backside of this building, there is a window located to the right of the door that suspects outside can spot the team and shoot through, but players may have a difficult time looking through the window to return fire.
Evidence[]
- Untraceable Weapon: A pistol seized by trailers. These are unregulated and unregistered firearms that can be easily distributed with no trace to the source, due to the serial number being non-existent and erased from the frame making them incredibly high demand. This one sports a silver slide and illegal "G-Switch" modification enabling automatic fire. Many of these firearms play a large part in the spike in gun crime in Los Suenos.
- The weapon is made of a 3D printed frame based off a full sized Glock Gen 3 handgun, what appears to be a full length Glock Gen 3 slide that does not have the brand, model, and caliber on it, and a switch.
- Jack's Watch + Agent ID: Jack always liked living on the edge, playing both sides amongst criminals and the law. His flashy and suave image was innate to his character: sporting a solid gold luxury watch attached to his Federal agent ID, $100 notes had also been inserted as hush money for eager, underpaid employees.
- Special Delivery: Eugene Gomez was quick to fold after his arrest, leading agents to discover even more 3D-printed weapon components. Amongst the evergrowing arsenal, Federal agents uncovered a package revealing two jewel-encrusted firearms coated in 10k gold. Likely being status weapons for a Los Locos Kingpin in the Suenos area.
- The weapons are a stockless AK47 with two magazines, and a Colt M1911.
Trivia[]
- In Adam's office is a number of photographs of unknown people. On a white board in the office, a note is written saying "Competition in Kawayu: the boys of the Tran family report to LSPD?" This is referring to the family in Ends of the Earth.
- In the upstairs office, an email from Gomez to the office manager can be found. Gomez states that he suspects Adams of illegal activity and reports that Adams threatened to hurt Gomez and his mother if he talked about his activities, and urges the manager to investigate. On another computer that is presumably Gomez's, a note from an anonymous writer (assumingly Adams) is taped on the screen that reminds Gomez to keep quiet about the shipments or else his mother would face the consequences.
- An audio log found next to the suspected shooter implies Los Locos was on scene to assassinate Adams.
