Sins of The Father is the thirteenth mission in Ready or Not. Rogue Secret Service agents sympathetic to the plight of The Left Behind, have occupied the fourteenth floor of the Clemente Hotel, threatening to execute Senator Fremont's family on video. D Platoon is dispatched to neutralize the terrorists before they can carry out their threat.

The Story

After the failed assassination attempt against Senator Fremont by domestic terrorist group The Left Behind (Depicted in Ides of March), his family was moved to the luxury Clemente Hotel under protective custody of the Secret Service. However, having apparently infiltrated the Secret Service, the cell has activated their sleeper agents within the Fremont's Security detail, initiating a contingency plan to instead strike against the Senator's family. The Left Behind demand that Senator Fremont owns up to his actions "unless he wants the blood of his family to be on his hands." The mission takes place October 1, 2025, making it the eighth mission chronologically.

Mission Brief

Team Lead: Alright, listen up; at approximately 03:30, we received reports of a potential situation at the Clemente Hotel. Reports are that the Fremont family is currently sheltering there. Yes, it's the same Fremont's as the politician involved in the shooting yesterday.

Officer: How reliable is the source?

Team Lead: Dispatch has hotel security on the line. He was alerted to the situation by one of the Fremont kids. Michael Fremont, aged 20, first drew their attention to the situation. He'd been outside, returning to the hotel, when he reported seeing an unknown number of armed suspects trying to enter the premises via the external fire escape. I don't need to point out to any of you how much the department doesn't need a prominent politician's family being murdered right now.

Team Lead: We've got security to put a lockdown in place, and we have visuals on the hallways but nothing in the penthouse suit itself. We're getting the blueprints sent though, but if they don't get here in time, we'll just have to go in blind. Time is of the essence here. We know there are six family members up there, along with several members of their private security detail.

Team Lead: We need to get the family out without any casualities. We're going in with lethal force. We can't afford any fuckups on this one. Am I clear?

Officer: How are we entering the building, sir?

Team Lead: Right, we're going in two ways. I want half of you to follow the suspects entry route up the fire escape. Get up, get in, get out. The rest of you, I want you inside on the stairs. Clear out the civilians to the lobby. I want you at the penthouse ASAP to get the family members out.

Team Lead: Alright, brace yourselves. We're two minutes out and have reports of shots being fired. Remember, this is the fourteenth floor. I want you all up there fast.

• This map replaces Checkin' In, a similar mission from the game's Early Access period.
• The video sequence playing in the home cinema room is from the film Charade (1963)
• An image from a security camera can be found in the media section of the briefing showing the Secret Service agents using the elevator. The security footage incorrectly labels the date as October 1, 2026 when the correct date should be October 1, 2025.
