The Left Behind is a domestic terrorist group in Ready or Not that is composed of disillusioned veterans and servicemen.

Overview

The group is made up of members who feel as though they have been abandoned or betrayed by the institutions they once served, and have therefore become radicalized. In accordance with their beliefs, they target those who they feel are responsible for this abandonment and betrayal, such as politicians who seek to cut funding to veteran services. Due to their previous military/service experience, they are highly dangerous, and eager to resort to violence if they feel it is necessary.

Ides of March

The first map where The Left Behind are featured is Ides of March. After Senator Freemont pushes for a bill that would cut Veteran funding, The Left Behind attempted to assassinate him by sniping him from a nearby luxury penthouse. This sequence is best shown in the Ready or Not | No Room for Civility trailer. Members of The Left Behind in Ides of March abandoned their sniping post after noticing the police were heading towards the penthouse, taking up positions and patrolling the hallways of the luxury living space.

Sins of the Father

The Left Behind are also encountered in Sins of The Father. Sleeper agents embedded within the Secret Service attack the Clemente Hotel housing Senator Fremont's family, threatening to execute them if their demands are not met. Their operatives look much different on this map, for the most part being disguised as Secret Service Agents, dressed in suits and dark sunglasses. They do not wear body armor, but occupy the halls in far greater numbers. It is most likely that these members are actual members of the Secret Service and are not in disguise.

Civilian Casualties

The Left Behind's view on civilian casualties seems to be rather inconclusive. In the Ides of March mission, arresting suspects can result in many voice lines where they seemingly claim wholeheartedly that the civilian casualties were unintentional. They are seemingly referring to members of the crowd in Brisa Cove Memorial Park that were killed by machine gun and sniper rifle fire. However on the same mission you can find multiple incapacitated civilians, although the fact that the civilians are incapacitated and not killed seems to point towards the Left Behind not wanting to end innocent lives. This is in stark contrast to the Sins of the Father mission, where the rogue Secret Service agents shoot multiple innocents dead for seemingly no reason, and have absoluteness no qualms about executing the family of Senator Fremont on live TV.
